Psalm 36:1-4

    1      An oracle within my heart concerning the transgression of the wicked:
    There is no fear of God before his eyes.
    2      For he flatters himself in his own eyes,
    When he finds out his iniquity and when he hates.
    3      The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit;
    He has ceased to be wise and to do good.
    4      He devises wickedness on his bed;
    He sets himself in a way that is not good;
    He does not abhor evil.
-Psalm 36:1-4

We must never underestimate the perspective the Lord takes to wickedness and toward the wicked. As we come to realize the severity of wickedness it serves all the more so to bring the fear of God before our eyes. Lack of fear of the Lord often leads to coupling with wickedness. If we do not fear God sin gains an appeal, for we lose sight of consequence. In the same way, the wicked who perpetually live absent from the fear of the Lord do not care for consequence. He looks upon himself and is filled with pride, flattering himself in his own eyes by his own wickedness.

The nature of the sinner is to be proud of his sin. He eagerly continues in it with spreading lies, boasting in foolishness, and striving for evil. The thoughts of his day and night are wicked. Being so near to evil he does not learn to hate it. Our lives as followers of Christ should not emulate this lifestyle. Learn to abhor evil and separate yourself from wickedness. Seek to do good and gain heavenly wisdom. Wickedness is no joke and neither is righteousness. So seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.
