Psalm 34:8-10

    8      Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good;
    Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!
    9      Oh, fear the LORD, you His saints!
    There is no want to those who fear Him.
    10      The young lions lack and suffer hunger;
    But those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing.
-Psalm 34:8-10

There is a word that John uses to describe the way in which we know God. The word is ginosko. This word is often translated as "know," but the Greek defines it further as knowledge by experience. We are not simply charged to know about God, but to experience God. We get to taste and see that the Lord is good. It isn't something where we simply take it because Scripture says it. We live in it day in and day out. With this we are blessed as we trust in Him.

As we trust Him we also fear Him and do not go without. We do not suffer want as we recognize we have all of our need fulfilled in Him. The Lord who is our Good Father does not seek that we lack any good thing. So taste and see the Lord's goodness to you this morning. May you be blessed in ever growing in trust of Him.
