Psalm 34:1-3

    1      I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
    2      My soul shall make its boast in the LORD;
    The humble shall hear of it and be glad.
    3      Oh, magnify the LORD with me,
    And let us exalt His name together.
-Psalm 34:1-3

This psalm poses quite a challenge for many of us in our modern day society. Blessing the Lord at all times is something that sounds awesome until it actually comes to practice. The reality is that this kind of practice takes an incredible amount of intentionality and faith. The intentionality is for those times that things are going well and we simply day pay any mind to how the Lord has blessed us. The faith is for those times in which trials are firing on all cylinders and we must remember the goodness of God.

It is important to note the reality that praise is not optional. As a matter of fact Paul tells the Thessalonians that it is the will of God for us that we give thanks in everything. Our boast and praise ought to be in the Lord at all times. Yet not just for us as individuals, but us as believers. We should in unison be exalting His name together.

While all of this may seem to be a lot and can be difficult, it is a practice and one we must implement into our daily lives. No matter how good or how bad things may seem to be going right now give praise to God. If need be set timers, alarms or something to help remind you to put this into practice. It will shape your view of the Lord and the situations around you.
