Psalm 32:3-5

    3      When I kept silent, my bones grew old
    Through my groaning all the day long.
    4      For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me;
    My vitality was turned into the drought of summer.
Selah
    5      I acknowledged my sin to You,
    And my iniquity I have not hidden.
    I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,”
    And You forgave the iniquity of my sin.
-Psalm 32:3-5

The stubbornness of unrepentance is completely and utterly crippling. The joy of repentance is completely and utterly freeing. When we remain silent before the Lord we often fall into this same attitude of groaning all the day long and our lives seemingly losing vitality. However, when we come before the Lord in acknowledgement, confession and praise we are renewed.

The alternative of one who is active in confession if there is need of confession, praise for those things that are praiseworthy, and acknowledgement of the Lord in all things is that of a life of strength and vitality. Even as our flesh may fail our spirit rises strong. This is a place you can live in. Put in practice today acknowledging the Lord. Do not fall for the trap of silence and in so doing grow weak. Confess and praise. The Lord will bring strength.
