Psalm 27:4-6

    4      One thing I have desired of the LORD,
    That will I seek:
    That I may dwell in the house of the LORD
    All the days of my life,
    To behold the beauty of the LORD,
    And to inquire in His temple.
    5      For in the time of trouble
    He shall hide me in His pavilion;
    In the secret place of His tabernacle
    He shall hide me;
    He shall set me high upon a rock.

    6      And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me;
    Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle;
    I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD.
-Psalm 27:4-6

Truly nothing is greater than being in the presence of God! Being that we are believers, I have no doubt that each one of us has had a very real encounter with God. If we look back on any encounter we have had with the Lord we know the experience of how good and precious it is to be near to Him. You are left in awe and wonder, eager and excited to give praise to the Lord!

As believers we share this same pursuit. Our goal and longing is that we would dwell with the Lord forever. However the Psalm does not simply say forever. Instead it says all the days of my life. There is a great extent even now in which you can dwell in the house of the Lord and behold the beauty of the Lord. Would you dedicate yourself that your may dwell with the Lord all the days of your life? Let us not stop short of pursuing the Lord for eternity only, but also that we would pursue Him for such a time as this.
