Hebrews 6:9-12 | What am I going to do about it?

Hopeful Meditation

8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
-Philippians 4:8
There are a lot of voices that want to speak into our lives. Often when hope enters the conversation, a multitude of other voices like to chime in as to why we shouldn't have hope. Those voices may come from coworkers, family, or even other believers. Today I want to take an intentional effort of looking at what the Lord has to say in His word concerning hope. I will be sharing a lot of Scripture and my prayer is that the word of God will cut deep and cause us to walk in genuine hope.

17A horse is a vain hope for safety;
Neither shall it deliver any by its great strength.
18Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,
On those who hope in His mercy,
19To deliver their soul from death,
And to keep them alive in famine.
20Our soul waits for the Lord;
He is our help and our shield.
21For our heart shall rejoice in Him,
Because we have trusted in His holy name.
22Let Your mercy, O Lord, be upon us,
Just as we hope in You.
-Psalm 33:17-22

But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
-Isaiah 40:31

5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
-Romans 5:5

13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
-Romans 15:13

11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
-Titus 2:11-14

Meditate on these today and grow in the hope that the Lord has given you!
