John 6:22-59 | What am I going to do about it?

This is an action step I try to take any time I am studying the Word.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
-Romans 12:1-2

When approaching the Word of God, our goal should not be to reinforce our own thoughts, ideals, etc. Our goal should be to conform ourselves to Him. I have already shared a few examples as to how it has impacted me carrying my own presuppositions in to Him. Now my phrasing has changed. "Do I really believe this?" I seek to conform myself to what Scripture is saying. "Does my life reflect this?"

Given the context of the conversation in John 6, I think it is a beneficial exercise to entertain this question.

How can I partake of Christ today?

Whatever answer it is we may come to, we should make this our goal. Don't get caught in all the nuances of what it entirely looks like. Rather, the intent is that we would lay ourselves down before Him.

What application are you implementing?
