Proverbs 30:7-9

7Two things I request of You
(Deprive me not before I die):
8Remove falsehood and lies far from me;
Give me neither poverty nor riches—
Feed me with the food allotted to me;
9Lest I be full and deny You,
And say, “Who is the Lord?”
Or lest I be poor and steal,
And profane the name of my God.
-Proverbs 30:7-9

This humble prayer is one that should be close to all of our hearts. It is a prayer that asks of God to let them sit with what they need but not so much that have no further need for the Lord. Why should one desire to be so full within themselves that they should forget the Lord? Or who wants to be so poor that they are forced to steal? The heart is one of contentment. We must learn in our seasons to both abound and to be abased. We must learn contentment in all things. When we are satisfied in Him, materialism becomes far from us. Do not desire to be rich. Do not strive to be poor. Abide in Christ and He will be your satisfaction.
