Hebrews 9:1-15 | What am I going to do about it?

Thankful Response

As I have recounted more of my testimony in these past couple of weeks, I cannot help but examine the response given in Scripture by those who have been healed, restored, or made new. I want to draw our eyes to an event that happened with Jesus and I will build my application around it.
11 Now it happened as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. 12 Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off. 13 And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”
14 So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed.
15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16 and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan.
17 So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? 18 Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” 19 And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”
-Luke 17:11-19
There were 10 who were healed by Jesus. All received the healing and went their way. But one of them, and only one, returned. He saw he was healed. He remembered crying out with a loud voice to be restored by Jesus and he was. This Samaritan of all people ran back and cried out once more with a loud voice praise to God. He fell on his face at Jesus' feet and gave thanks.

You who are healed, restored, and made new; you who are forgiven, will you come back to your Savior and give Him praise? This is the response I long to have expressed in my life. I have been restored by Jesus! I have been forgiven! I have been cleansed! My Master has freed me from the bondage I was in. He healed me from the condition of my sin and released me from the inevitable conclusion of it. My application today is one of thanksgiving.

What application are you implementing today?
