Proverbs 31:17
17She girds herself with strength,
And strengthens her arms
-Proverbs 31:17
To gird oneself with strength is a very interesting way of speaking. What we have found in our lives as the body of Christ is that we do actually have to put on strength to walk out our salvation, but that strength is not our own. The strength we put on is the strength that comes from above. I think of Isaiah 40:31 which says,
"31But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint."
-Isaiah 40:31
So we are girded with strength as we wait upon the Lord and that is what enables us to serve Him, our Bridegroom. Wait upon the Lord and set your hope on Him and Him alone!
